<p>Lottis Creek Campground is a good site for anglers, hikers and four-wheel drive enthusiasts. The campground is located on the shores of Lottis Creek and close to the Taylor River. Two miles to the south visitors will find access to the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area. Hikers and equestrians can enjoy the trails of this pristine natural area. No mechanized or motorized vehicles are permitted in any Wilderness Area. To the east of Lottis Creek Campground four-wheel drivers will find a plethora of roads to explore. Cumberland Pass Road provides access to most of these trails. Group camping is available.</p>
The elevation is 9,000 ft. The campground is divided into two sections, separated by LottisCreek and has four loops. One loop is for groups and is not includedin this survey. Loops Union Park and Baldy have campsite with electric hookups while Park Cone Loops has no hookups. Campsite are tucked in among Lodgepole and some Aspen trees. The campground is convenient to the Fossil Ridge Wilderness and the 2,400acre Taylor Park Reservoir. Although there is little understory, the camping sites are well separated providing adequate privacy. Firewood is available for a fee. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.

The wheelchair friendly toilet is located in the eastern or upper section across from camp site #16.
The parking aprons are gravel or paved. Most pull-throughs will accommodate any size RV. Camp sites 1 and 3 have grey water facility.
In Almont, CO, at intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742, take Rt. 742 for 16.7 miles to campground sign. Turn right into campground.

Summer offers full access to Lottis Creek and the Taylor River Canyon with reliably mild daytime temps—typically mid‑60s to mid‑70s°F (about 65–80°F) and mountain nights dipping into the 30s–40s°F—making it ideal for hiking, trout fishing, boating, and swimming. Trails, 4WD routes, and the nearby Fossil Ridge Wilderness are fully accessible, so peak outdoor activities are at their best and wildflower meadows are in bloom. Lottis Creek Campground is located in the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests at an elevation of 8,600 feet. It is a well-maintained campground with 47 single-family campsites and one group site accommodating up to 50 people and 10 vehicles. "The facility was completely renovated in 2012, with electric hookups available at most sites," according to official sources. Each site is equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings. The natural environment features lodgepole pines and proximity to Lottis Creek provides a serene soundscape.
