Best season: summer. Summer offers full access, reliably mild weather, and peak recreation: expect daytime highs around 70–80°F and cool nights near 40–50°F at 8,600 ft, which make long days on the water and trails comfortable. This is prime time for trout fishing on the Taylor River, kayaking/boating, swimming in sheltered pools, and hiking the nearby Fossil Ridge trails. Campground and river activities are busiest in July–August (weekends fill fast), so reservations are strongly recommended for the best sites. Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Peak season (Jun 15–Sep 13); best weather, full access, and busiest/reviewed period.
