Summer brings the most reliable access, with daytime highs around 80–95°F and cool nights in the 50s. Long daylight hours work well for hiking and stargazing, though California fire restrictions sometimes limit campfires. Winter sees gentle rain and occasional snow. Spring and fall offer milder temperatures, but the campground's intermittent closure means summer remains the safest bet for finding the gate unlocked.
