Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and warm, dry weather—daytime highs typically range from the low 70s to mid-80s°F with cool nights in the 40s–50s°F—making it ideal for hiking the backcountry trails and riding nearby OHV routes. Rock Creek’s shaded sites and the creek itself provide a pleasant cooling break and the forest canopy keeps the six-site campground feeling private even on busier summer weekends. Note that summer also overlaps with California fire season, so expect possible camp/火 Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
