Summer offers the most reliable, comfortable conditions at 5,500 ft — expect warm, dry days in the 70s–80s°F and cool nights in the 40s–50s°F — ideal for boating, fishing and long hikes to Bucks Lake and the Pacific Crest Trail. Water recreation and trail access are at their peak, campsites are open (May 23–Sep 27) and facilities are available, though weekends in July–August can be moderately busy. Bring layers for chilly evenings, plan around summer fire restrictions, and make reservations once Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January

No drinking water is available. There are vault toilets and a bear proof dumpster for garbage. There are 11 total campsites suitable for RV and tent camping, standard non-electric sites. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table.
