Families or couples who want a secluded summer base on a mountain river, especially if you've wanted a small campground where even peak-season crowds aren't a concern. The access road is solid, and longtime regulars have been returning here for decades.
Horse campers with larger rigs will find the setup genuinely awkward: sites fit only small bumper-pull trailers, and the corrals are far from camp in a marshy, mosquito-prone area. Anyone who needs cell service or potable water on tap should also plan carefully before booking.

<p><font style="background-color: rgb(250, 248, 223);">This six unit campground is located five miles north of Frenchman Lake. This a family and equestrian campground. This is the only equestrian campground on the Beckwourth District. There is a horse corral across the road from the campground with a table and fire ring.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: rgb(250, 248, 223);">Each campsite has a table, fire ring and food locker. A vault toilet is provided. There is a hand pump with non-potable water. No garbage service is provided.</font></p>
