Best season: spring. Spring offers the best balance of mild weather and active landscapes — daytime highs are often in the mid-50s to mid-70s°F (10–24°C) with cool nights around the low 30s to mid-40s°F (0–7°C). Wildflowers are at their peak, trails thaw and become very walkable, and exposed rock layers and mineral deposits are especially photogenic and easy to explore for rock-hounding. Crowd levels are generally low to moderate (busy mainly on holiday weekends), so you’ll have excellent conditions for hiking, rock Peak months: May, June, April, September Avoid: December, January, February
Overview: spring most comfortable; highs mid-50s to mid-70s and wildflowers peak—best season.
