Pleasant Campground is a small boat or hike-in campground on the east shore of Loon Lake. Access is via the Loon Lake Trailhead or boat ramp at Loon Lake Campground, with 4 miles by foot trail or 3 miles by boat across the lake. It operates from June to October, with check-in at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 1:00 p.m. A free California Campfire permit is required due to its remote location, available at any Forest Service office. Camping fires must use the provided grill or fire ring, only dead and down wood, and be fully extinguished with water before leaving. The maximum stay is 14 days per district per year, and no fees are required. Pets must be kept on a leash. The site is at 6,400 feet elevation, with latitude 39.011811 and longitude -120.290268. Restrooms are available, but potable water is not; bring water or boil/filter lake water nearby, as water quality testing is not performed on open sources. Picnic tables are provided. Horse and pack animals are not allowed. Parking is at the Loon boat ramp.
