Best season: summer. Summer delivers the most dependable mountain weather (mornings around 55°F, afternoons near 80–83°F) and the fullest range of lake recreation — boating, swimming, and warm-water fishing are at their peak. Campsites are fully serviced and available by reservation from May 23 to August 31, so you can plan reliably while avoiding early-season snow and late‑season closures. Expect moderate crowds on holiday weekends and busy boat ramps, but plenty of space for day hikes, biking, and lakeside picnics Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Peak season (May 23–Aug 31) offers ideal temps and lake activities but also more crowds/noise.

Grizzly Campground offers a range of amenities suitable for both tent and RV campers. Each campsite includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill. Flush toilets are available and maintained regularly, with lighting provided. Drinking water is accessible via paddle-operated faucets distributed throughout the campground during the peak season. However, bear lockers are not provided, and onsite food storage requires extra precautions. Campers can find coin-operated showers located half a mile away at Grasshopper Flat Campground. The facility is supported by a camp host, and some campsites are considered accessible.
