No hookups, no showers, and nights drop into the mid-20s even in midsummer. Fall and spring scores bottom out for good reason: snow and mud close the access road and trails, so anything outside July-August is a gamble.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and the fullest range of backcountry opportunities — expect daytime highs around 50–70°F and chilly nights in the mid-20s to low-40s. Trails, fishing lakes, and high-country meadows are at their peak: wildflowers and clear alpine water make July and August ideal for backpacking, day hikes, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Afternoon thunderstorms are common; plan hikes for mornings and check current road/trail conditions by calling the listed number. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Summer is the only reliable window; July–Aug mild days, wildflower peak and trail access.
