Best Time to Camp at Green River Float-In Campsites

Summer transforms the canyon into a sun-drenched paradise, with warm days perfect for river adventures and cool evenings ideal for stargazing from your riverside camp. As autumn arrives, the cottonwoods burst into golden flames against the red rock walls. Winter brings a different magic – crystalline air, possible snow dustings on the canyon rims, and a profound quietness broken only by the river's flow. Savvy paddlers know to check current water release schedules, as dam operations can influence river conditions and accessibility throughout the year.
