Overview

<p>Campers will enjoy all the beauty the Gunnison Basin has to offer. Anglers have access to the gold medal waters of the Taylor River. Hikers will enjoy access to the natural area of the Fossil Ridge Wilderness. There are 12 campsites.</p>

About the campground

The elevation is 8,600 ft. The campground stretches along Spring Creek with sites nestled among aspen and mixed conifers. Some sites overlook the creek. With very little understory, the campground has an open feeling to it.

Open May 13 through October 1.

The water spigot is a hand pump.

The parking aprons are gravel.

Directions

In Almont, CO, at intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742, take Rt. 742 for 6.9 miles to a "Y" intersection (Forest Rt. 744). Bear left onto Rt. 744 (dirt) and go 1.9 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
