Located in the heart of the Ironjaw Semi-Primitive Area, Triangle Lake is managed for both motorized and non-motorized uses and our management efforts seek to provide for quiet, peaceful recreation opportunities in a semi-primitive setting. Both campsites on Triangle Lake (169 acres) are located on the non-motorized Pine Marten Run Trail, which is open to hiking, mountain biking and horse back riding. There is no drinking water at these campsites. A boat access and parking area for day use is located at Site #1. This access is very sandy and turn-around space is limited. Carry-in access is recommended. There is no boat access at site #2. Triangle Lake is a good fishing lake with a nice population of northern pike, small mouth bass, bluegills, crappie and perch.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliably comfortable weather (daytime highs typically in the mid-70s to low-80s F, nights cooling into the 50s–60s), making Minerva Lake ideal for boating, swimming, and top fishing for largemouth bass and perch. The forest canopy keeps evenings pleasantly cool and shade abundant during the day, while trails and lake access are fully usable and safe. Expect moderate weekend crowds in July and August but generally peaceful, rustic camping on weekdays. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Summer is the favored season: comfortable temps, fishing, boating and wildlife viewing.

The Minerva Lake Campsite is a primitive camping site in the Hiawatha National Forest, designed to provide a serene and rustic experience. The site lacks basic amenities such as drinking water, toilets, and showers, making it necessary for visitors to bring their own supplies. The campsite is a single, small site located next to the 45-acre Minerva Lake. It is suitable for tents and small trailers, with limited space for maneuvering larger vehicles. While there are no modern conveniences, the campsite includes a fire ring and is adjacent to a gravel-based boat launch.
