Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of warm, stable weather (daytime highs typically 70–85°F, nights 45–55°F) and full access to river recreation — boating, guided whitewater runs, and warm-water fishing are at their peak. Trails are dry and approachable, camp infrastructure is open, and long daylight hours make multi-hour hikes and evening campfires easy. Expect the busiest crowds in July–early August and plan ahead: sites are reservable June 24–Sept 17 and popular weekends fill quickly. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Summer 70–85°F, river warm for swimming, trails dry—best season per overview and reviews.
