Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather and the fullest range of activities — expect daytime highs generally in the 60s–80s°F (15–29°C) with cool nights in the 40s–50s°F (4–12°C). Creeks are lower and clearer than in spring, making mid-summer ideal for fishing, swimming in deep pools, and hiking Lewis & Clark Trail #25 without muddy approaches. With only nine campsites the campground rarely feels crowded, though holiday weekends see more visitors and local fire restrictions can be in effect. Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
“Summer brings the most reliable conditions” and creek levels clear by mid-summer.
Lolo Creek Campground offers a rustic and immersive forest camping experience with 9 camping units located along the shores of Lolo and Eldorado Creeks. The campground provides a serene environment for activities such as hiking, OHV trail riding, fishing, and huckleberry picking. Adjacent to the historic Lewis and Clark Trail (#25) and the Musselshell OHV Trail System, it is an excellent base for outdoor adventures.
