Best season: summer. Summer offers warm, stable weather and the fullest range of activities—hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and fishing—when trails and primitive roads are reliably open. Expect daytime highs around 75–85°F (24–29°C) with cool nights 40–55°F (4–13°C) and the occasional afternoon thunderstorm that can make trails muddy. Crowds are moderate (this is a primitive group site), but summer gives the best access, longest daylight, and safest road/trail conditions for large-group backcountry use. Peak months: July, August, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Summer described as ideal: 75–85°F days, cool nights; peak season June–Sept with best trail access.
