Spring offers the best combination of mild weather, low crowds, and active wildlife — daytime highs typically range from the mid-50s to mid-60s °F with cool nights in the mid-30s to low-40s. Fishing and boating pick up as the reservoir warms and trout become more active, wildflowers and berry bushes bloom along forest clearings, and hiking is especially pleasant before summer insects and peak visitor numbers arrive.
