You want a cozy cabin base for hot springs soaking, river recreation, and don't mind rustic conditions.
You need modern cleanliness standards or are uncomfortable with wildlife encounters like bats.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather (daytime highs commonly in the low 70s to mid 80s°F, nights in the 40s–50s°F) and is when trails, river access, and hot springs are all at their peak use. This is the best time for hiking, fishing, swimming or boating on the Middle Fork Payette, and long evenings in the meadow for wildlife viewing and soaking in the springs. Expect moderate to busy weekends (especially late July–August) but plenty of daylight and warm water for outdoor activities. Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: January, February, March, April
Typically quieter with good wildlife viewing and pleasant conditions for trails.

Boiling Springs Cabin offers a rustic but well-equipped experience for campers. The cabin accommodates up to five people and includes several amenities such as a propane cook range and refrigerator, wood stove heating, and basic kitchenware like pots, pans, and dishes. Firewood is provided for part of the year (October 15 - December 31), though campers may need to split it. Outside, the cabin features a picnic table, a campfire ring, and a vault toilet. Potable water is available during the summer season via a hand pump outdoors. Campers are required to pack their own bedding, pillows, lighting, garbage bags, and an axe. There is no electricity on-site, and the cabin area is unstaffed, although camp hosts are available at nearby campgrounds during the summer. Guests are expected to clean the cabin prior to departure.
