<p>The Barney's Campground is located on the northeast shore of scenic Deadwood Reservoir at an elevation of 5,300 feet. Boating, fishing and hiking are popular activities at this site.</p><p><strong>Natural Features:</strong></p><p>The campground is situated in a mixed-growth pine forest, which offers plentiful shade. Summer wildflowers are abundant. The entire campground affords views of the reservoir.</p><p><strong>Recreation:</strong></p><p>Because of its remote location, Deadwood Reservoir is quiet and unpopulated, making for great fishing for Atlantic, Chinook and Kokanee salmon, and rainbow and cutthroat trout. Boating, water skiing, canoeing and kayaking are popular on the lake. Best season: summer. Summer offers the clearest access to Deadwood Reservoir and the full suite of activities — expect warm, dry days with daytime highs typically in the mid-70s to mid-80s°F and crisp nights in the low 40s to 50°F. Water activities (swimming, boating, fishing) and wildflower displays are at their peak, while trails are dry and easy to travel. Crowds are moderate compared with more famous Idaho lakes, but reservations are recommended from June 19 to September 7 and weekend/holiday demand can be high. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
