Best season: summer. Summer offers the easiest access and the most reliable weather — expect warm daytime highs around 65–80°F and cool nights in the mid-30s to 50°F, with little lingering snow at 6,600 ft. This is when trails, creek edges, and campsites are most usable: hiking, creek-side relaxing, stargazing and evening campfires (when allowed) are at their peak. The campground is small (10 sites), so you can enjoy relative solitude compared with busier parks, though summer weekends will fill quickly; be prepared: Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
Summer best: snow cleared, pleasant highs ~65-80°F and trails accessible.
