Best season: fall. Fall offers the best balance of mild daytime temps (typically 60–80°F) and crisp nights (40–55°F), excellent visibility for long coastal-and-mountain vistas, and reduced insect activity — ideal for hiking, biking, OHV trail riding, and wildlife viewing. Trails are generally dry and firm after summer, making the 45 miles of marked routes more enjoyable and less dusty than peak summer; crowds thin on weekdays and weekends are moderate unless an organized OHV event is scheduled. Fire danger is more Peak months: October, September, November
