Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of stable, dry trail conditions and cooler, comfortable riding weather — daytime highs commonly sit in the mid-60s to low-70s°F with crisp nights in the 40s–50s°F. Trails are at their driest after the long summer, making the 45 miles of OHV routes more technical and enjoyable, while vistas from Pozo Summit and Black Mountain are clear. Crowds are generally moderate (weekends busier), and fall also avoids the intense summer heat and the winter rainy/muddy closures Peak months: October, November, September, May Avoid: January, February
Fall cited as best riding: daytime highs mid-60s to low-70s°F and dry trails.
