Best Time to Camp at Winn

Experience the White Mountains' signature climate, where summer days bring refreshing mountain air and temperatures that feel worlds away from Arizona's desert heat. As evening falls, the thin mountain air transforms into a crisp, star-filled sanctuary that calls for campfires and warm sleeping bags. From late June through August, nature puts on afternoon performances as dramatic thunderstorms roll across the peaks, painting the sky with lightning and filling the forest with the scent of rain-soaked pine.
