Expect daytime highs in the 50s–60s°F and chilly nights that often drop into the 20s–30s°F, so layers are essential; crowds thin compared with summer but weekends can still be busy. Fall weather is usually stable, trails are less buggy, and the meadow-and-forest contrast makes 8 Peak months: September, October, August, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Standout season: peak aspens, elk bugling and overwhelmingly positive fall reviews cited.
