Best season: spring. Spring is the best time to visit for wildflower displays, rushing snowmelt streams, and comfortable daytime hiking temperatures (typically 40–65°F / 5–18°C) at this 7,600 ft campground. Trails are generally open by late April–May, geology features and exposed rock faces are especially photogenic with contrast from fresh greenery, and water features (waterfalls, stream crossings) are at peak flow. Expect moderate crowds on holiday weekends but plenty of solitude on weekday hikes. Peak months: May, June, September, October Avoid: January, February
Overview: 'Spring is the best time' with wildflowers, peak stream flow and 40–65°F hiking temps.
FR 9350 Campground is a dispersed camping area adjacent to the Mogollon Rim Escarpment, featuring basic amenities. A vault toilet is located at the entrance to the campground near the Carr Lake Trailhead. The area is scenic but not recommended for families with young children or individuals uncomfortable with heights due to its proximity to a 200-foot vertical drop.
