Best season: summer. Summer offers the mildest, most reliable weather for accessing Green Island by boat or floatplane, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from the mid-40s to mid-60s °F and long daylight hours for exploring. Salmon runs, peak fishing, and calm-enough water for comfortable boating and wildlife viewing are at their best from late June through August, while fog and rain remain possible so expect cool, damp conditions and bring foul-weather gear. Crowds are still light compared with more road‑f Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
Most reliable access; long daylight, peak salmon runs and abundant wildlife June–Aug.

Green Island Cabin provides a remote camping experience with essential amenities tailored for rugged outdoor enthusiasts. The cabin is wheelchair-accessible and comes equipped with wooden bunks that accommodate up to six guests, a table, benches, wood and oil stoves for heat, a rainwater catchment barrel, axe, splitting maul, saw, and an outdoor pit toilet. However, it lacks running water, electricity, cut firewood, or heating oil, and visitors must bring essential supplies such as water, food, sleeping gear, cooking equipment, lanterns, and trash bags. All trash and food must be packed out, and the cabin is expected to be cleaned before departure. A forest order limits occupancy to seven consecutive days by one group or person.
