Best Time to Camp at Green Island Cabin

Green Island's weather tells the story of Alaska's raw beauty, where nature rules with an iron fist wrapped in velvet fog. Winter transforms the landscape into a crystalline wonderland of heavy snow and challenging conditions, while summer brings a gentler face—though rain still dances frequently across the sound. The island's maritime climate means precipitation is a constant companion, whether falling as fat snowflakes or persistent drizzle. Summer visitors find the most forgiving conditions for exploration, when longer days illuminate the emerald forests and calm waters invite adventure.
