Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather and longest days for exploring Montague Island — expect daytime highs around 45–60°F (7–15°C) and 16–20 hours of daylight in June–July, making boat travel, fishing, and long hikes practical. Salmon runs, abundant marine life, and peak seabird activity make wildlife viewing and angling at their best, while sheltered bays are generally calmer for kayaking and landing. Visitor numbers are still moderate (this is remote Alaska), but book ahead for the cabin as Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January
Best season: most reliable weather, long daylight and prime salmon/wildlife viewing in summer.
