Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of reliably warm daytime weather (typically mid-60s to high-70s°F) and fully accessible trails and fishing on Libby Creek, making it ideal for hiking, angling, and wildlife viewing. Creekside sites are lively with wildflower displays and abundant bird and mammal activity, while cool nights in the low-to-mid 40s°F keep camping comfortable. Crowd levels are moderate—expect the six secluded sites to fill on weekends after the June 20 first-come, first-served date— Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open and busiest in summer; pleasant temps and stocked fishing at Barber Lake in summer.
