CLOSED DUE TO RIVERSIDE FIRE

Riverside Campground is a charming and rustic campground, situated alongside the Wild and Scenic Clackamas River. It provides access to a variety of hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails and is a great place to experience nature.

The elevation is 1,600 ft. The campground, on a bluff above the Wild and Scenic Clackamas River, has two sections with most sites overlooking the river. Large alders, along with some grand old Douglas fir, provide shade to sites. Little middle and understory give only fair privacy. Several campsites have man-made "pools" below at the river's edge for wading. The first four sites are walk-in tent sites and have the most privacy. Firewood is available for a fee.
Open May 22 through September 13
The water spigot is a handpump.
The parking aprons are paved. There are low overhanging branches on the interior road and some parking aprons. A waste station with potable water is available for a donation at Timber Park Rest Area in Estacada, OR on State Rt. 224, mile marker 22.3.
In Estacada, OR, at intersection of State Rts. 211 and 224, take Rt. 224 east and go 28.1 miles to campground on right.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather and full campground services (open May 23–Sept 21), with warm, stable days typically in the 70–85°F range and cool nights around 45–55°F. This is when river-based activities (fishing, paddling), hiking, and biking are at their peak and forest access is fully open. Expect moderate to busy weekend crowds in July and August — reservations are recommended — and be mindful of occasional wildfire smoke or heat waves that can affect air quality and fire rules. Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open May 23–Sept 21; summer is peak season for hiking, fishing, paddling and biking.
