Light sleepers and anyone who needs clean facilities should think twice. Reviewers flag loud music well past quiet hours, unkempt vault toilets, and semi-permanent campers who treat the bar like a neighborhood. One camper had food and propane stolen when they stepped away.

Miller Bar is operated as a dispersed site, and is located on large river bar on the beautiful Wild and Scenic Chetco River. Enjoy summer fun in the crystal clear waters of this outstanding river! A few shaded spots can be found along the treeline. Tents or small trailers only. July and August bring the most reliable conditions. Expect daytime highs around 65-85°F, cool nights in the 50s, low humidity, and long daylight for swimming and sunbathing. River flows drop in late summer, exposing large gravel bars ideal for dispersed camping. Summer weekends get crowded. Weekday visits are quieter. Winter camping on the gravel bars is risky. Pacific storms cause the Chetco to rise dramatically with little warning, reclaiming its winter territory.
July/August offer best conditions, warm water and long days, but also most crowded.
