Families and trout anglers who self-supply water and want a quiet, cheap base in eastern Oregon's high country. July and August hit the sweet spot when the creek runs clear and daytime temps stay in the 60s-80s.
Currently closed due to fire recovery, so hold off until that's lifted. Even when open, no potable water on-site means hauling your own from Burns, 45 minutes away, and there's no trash pickup either.
