Horse campers get the most out of the right loop's corrals and hitching rails, but hikers and anglers happy to haul their own water will find the left loop genuinely quiet for $6. Summer mornings with marsh mist and zero cell noise are the draw.
No potable water on-site is a real logistical commitment, not a minor detail. Add zero cell coverage and a 27-minute drive to Silver Lake for any resupply, and campers who forget either will have a rough night.

<p>Silver Creek Marsh Campground is located 30 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon. The Silver Creek March Campground offers campsites at a popular fishing spot along Silver Creek in a beautiful forest setting. This spacious, timbered camp offers pastoral meadow and marsh views and great camping. There are 15 campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, two vault toilets, horse corrals, and potable water. You can enjoy bird watching, fishing, and hiking besides horseback riding. </p><p>For horses, you’ll find large corrals with about six stalls that can accommodate 10-12 horses. There are also five hitching rails. On site is <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/fremont-winema/recarea/?recid=59905">Silver Creek March Trailhead</a> which provides access to the <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/fremont-winema/recarea/?recid=59681">Fremont National Recreation Trail #160 – Northern Segment</a>. You’ll find good signage on this section of the trail with mile indicators and directions. </p>
The elevation is 4,800 ft. The campground, pack it in, pack it out and stretching along the West Fork Silver Creek, has two connected loops. The right-hand loop at the campground's entrance, is designed for equestrian campers. Each campsite in this loop has hitching rails with a communal pole stall in the middle. The left loop is for non-equestrian campers. A fire opened up the views around most of campground. Ponderosa pine provide some shade. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.

From Silver Lake, OR, take State Rt. 31 west 0.5 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign onto Silver Creek Rd. (Forest Rt. 27) and go 9.9 miles to campground on left.

Summer delivers the most reliable conditions. Daytime highs run 65-80°F, nights drop to 35-45°F. Trails, fishing access, and horse facilities are all accessible. Expect moderate weekend crowds during mid-summer, but the campground rarely fills completely. Winter buries the area in snow, limiting access but creating opportunities for hardy cold-weather campers. Spring and fall shoulder seasons can be unpredictable.
