Spring delivers the best camping conditions, with daytime highs climbing from the mid-50s in April to the low 70s by June. The hardwood forest awakens with wildflowers and migrating songbirds, making this the prime window for birding and wildlife viewing. Bluff-top views stay crisp and clear before summer humidity sets in. Beach walks, fishing, and biking are comfortable before the heat arrives. Fall brings another strong season as the oaks and maples shift to golds and crimsons. Winters are crisp and dry. Summer offers warm beach days and occasional rain, with the forest canopy providing shade.
Described as the best season: wildflowers, migrating songbirds and pleasant temps.
