Anglers expecting reliable action will be disappointed. Multiple reviewers logged 10-plus hours without a bite, and the shoreline smells of swamp mud near some sites. No showers, no dump station, no cell service, and supplies are 18 miles back in Philipsburg.

The calm weather, thinner crowds, and improved fishing make up for the chill. Bring a warm sleeping bag. Summer can push into the 90s during the day but cools fast after sunset at this elevation.
