No potable water on-site means a dry camp unless you carry every drop in. Add zero cell coverage and no trash service, and anyone who didn't plan for full self-sufficiency will find this trip harder than expected.

<p>The campground has 3 units, with a day use picnic area and toilets.<br />The maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 20 feet. There is no garbage service at this campground, so please pack out what you pack in.</p>
The elevation is 6,400 ft. The campground is comprised of two loops (A and B). Due to extensive hazard tree removal, there is little shade or middlestory. However, the views of the lake and surrounding mountains are super The grassland understory and lack of middlestory provide little privacy between campsites. Some sites are adjacent to or overlook Georgetown Lake. Parking aprons in Loop A are shorter than those in Loop B. Boats can be parked along shoreline at or near campsites. Some campsites are terraced with tables and grilles above the sites. The understory is grassy. All campsite are open and sunny; bring your own shade. Near boxes are provided. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.

Georgetown Lake is 1,466 acres and is spring fed

In Philipsburg, MT, at the intersection of State Rt. 1 and Broadway, take Rt. 1 south 10.7 miles to "National Forest Campgrounds" and "Georgetown Lake Rd" signs. Turn right onto Georgetown Lake Rd.and go 2.4 miles to campground on left.

The campground opens mid-June through September, when temperatures range from lows in the 30s and 40s to daytime highs between 55 and 75°F. July and August bring the warmest, driest conditions, though afternoon thunderstorms can roll through with little warning. Early June might deliver surprise snow, and September nights turn cold fast. Mid-summer offers the most stable weather and the best fishing, but the three-site layout means crowding is never an issue even on peak weekends.
