Go if

Scout troops, family reunions, or club trips that need flush toilets, free showers, and firepits without hookups will find this fits the bill. Summer and fall score identically high, but fall means thinner crowds and sharper color on the gorge trails.

Skip if

Peak summer weekends pack this place; groups sensitive to noise from neighboring sites will feel it. No electrical or water hookups means anyone running medical equipment or expecting RV-style power is out of luck, and pets can't come along.
