Go if

Fall foliage campers who lock in reservations early and grab an outer-ring site get the best of this place: Superior Hiking Trail access, five distinct waterfalls on the Gooseberry River, and a cobblestone beach all reachable on foot.

Skip if

Inner-ring sites pack in close, and overnight generator noise is a recurring complaint on peak summer weekends, if you're a light sleeper or bringing an RV, there's no hookup here and the crowds may not be worth it.
