Cart-in sites require hauling gear, and at least one group found communal carts were occupied with no park resolution. Pets can't come, there are no showers or flush toilets, and late-season nights get cold fast.

Fall delivers the best mix of color, comfortable weather, and peak waterfall views as the gorge and hardwoods turn. Daytime highs run mid-40s to low 60s°F in September and October, with crisp nights that require warm layers. Spring brings the most impressive waterfall flow. Summer offers full amenities but busier trails and parking lots. Reviewers note May and June as a prime window for comfortable conditions. Nights can get quite cold in later months. One camper flagged the need for additional protective clothing. Post-Labor Day visits see fewer crowds, though weekends remain busy. Midweek fall trips offer the quietest experience.
