Summer delivers the most reliable conditions, with daytime highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s°F and nights cooling to the mid-50s to mid-60s°F. Water recreation peaks from June through August when the lake warms enough for comfortable swimming and trails dry out for biking. Weekend crowds increase during peak season across Waterloo Recreation Area, so book the group site early or plan a midweek trip. Longer summer daylight extends evening activities around the lake.
