Point Beach State Forest sits along Lake Michigan's shoreline just north of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, combining a wide sandy beach with 8 wooded campsites at an elevation of 617 feet. The campground offers both tent and RV sites with electric hookups and shower facilities, and a paved bike trail connects directly to town.
State forest campground with wooded, lakeshore-adjacent sites; offers electric sites and non-electric tent sites, accommodating both tent and RV camping.
Weather and SeasonsSummer brings the best conditions: daytime highs around 70–80°F, Lake Michigan water temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s, and long evenings for sunset watching. The beach and paved bike trail are fully accessible, and all electric sites are available. Holiday weekends draw crowds, so weekdays or early arrivals offer quieter beach time. Winter opens groomed trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking through the forest, though beach access becomes less practical.
Natural Features and SceneryMiles of Lake Michigan beach anchor the park, backed by coastal dunes and a mixed hardwood-conifer forest. The campground itself sits in shaded woods, with low wetlands and swales scattered throughout the property. Sunrises over the lake are a highlight, though standing water in the swales can breed mosquitoes in warm months. A historic lodge near the beach houses a concession stand and camp store, and the Rawley Point Lighthouse stands on the shore (exterior viewing only; interior access has been closed for renovations). The beach is wide and sandy, though high water has occasionally reduced usable shoreline in past years.
