No cell service is a hard wall here, and summer visits mean aggressive mosquitoes at every site. The lake bottom is weedy and soft in places, so if swimming is the point, this isn't the right lake.

Fall is the standout season. September and early October bring crisp days in the 45–65°F range and nights in the 30s–40s, with peak foliage color and a noticeable drop in mosquito pressure. Summer offers warm weather but aggressive bugs. Nearly every review warns about them. The campground is technically open year-round, but winter access requires proper vehicles since neither the seasonal roads nor the campground gets plowed. Late spring through fall covers the most comfortable window.
Standout season: peak foliage, crisp days and reduced mosquito pressure make fall ideal.
Rustic, small lakeside campground with basic facilities.
