Best season: summer. Summer offers warm, lake-friendly weather and is the best time for swimming, paddling, and bass/panfish fishing on Wagner Lake. Expect daytime highs in the mid-70s to low-80s F and nights in the 50s–60s, making the sandy-bottomed shore ideal for long lake days and campfire evenings. The small 12-site campground stays relatively quiet compared with larger parks, though weekends in July–August can fill; bring bug spray for mosquitoes and be prepared for occasional afternoon thunderstorms. Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
Summer brings warmest water and best fishing; late June–August is peak recreational season.
