Generator noise is a real, recurring problem here despite quiet-hour rules, so light sleepers may have a rough night. Summer adds thick mosquitoes. No showers, no hookups, and it's first-come-first-served, so arriving mid-week improves your odds considerably.

Fall delivers peak color and quiet. Daytime highs range from mid-40s to mid-60s°F, with cool mornings and crisp afternoons. The reflective water makes shoreline maples and oaks glow. Bug pressure drops, weekday crowds thin out (weekends see moderate use), and canoeing, shore fishing for bass and panfish, and photography all hit their stride. Expect shorter days and occasional cold nights. Summer reaches around 80°F, comfortable for swimming and lakeside lounging, though mosquitoes can be thick. Reviews consistently mention bringing repellent. Spring warms slowly, with wildflowers and birdsong, but evenings need an extra layer.
