Summer is the best time to visit. Daytime highs run 70–85°F, and the lake reaches its warmest temperatures in July and August. Swimming, boating, and beach activities peak then, but so does park traffic. Weekends fill quickly, and the beach can get lively. Afternoon thunderstorms occasionally leave puddles in low spots, but the sandy soil drains fast. Bring insect repellent; ticks have been reported in warmer months.
Summer is best: lake warms to mid‑60s/70s, peak swimming/boating and beach activity.
