Summer offers the best combination of reliable access, mild daytime temperatures, and peak outdoor activity at 6,690 ft — expect daytime highs around 65–80°F and cool nights in the mid-30s to 50s. Trails and the small creek are fully accessible for hiking, creekside relaxation, fishing, and easy day trips along Highway 21, and the five-site campground stays intimate even on busy summer weekends. Wildflowers and full foliage add to the scenery, while the lower-elevation approach roads are usually Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
