Best season: spring. Spring offers the best balance of mild weather, blooming understory (notably rhododendrons and spring wildflowers), and lower crowds—daytime highs typically rise into the 50s–60s°F with cool nights in the upper 30s–40s°F. River flows can still be lively from winter runoff, making waterfalls dramatic and hiking especially scenic, while trails remain accessible for day hikes and early-season boating as waterways open up. Expect fewer weekend crowds than July/August, and take advantage of fishing,멀 Peak months: May, June, July, September Avoid: December, January
Spring noted as best: 50s–60s°F, rhododendron bloom, fewer crowds than summer.
Falls View Campground offers a forested environment with conifers and rhododendrons situated high above the Big Quilcene River. The campground features two distinct loops to accommodate different camping needs: one loop caters to RVs and trailers (14 sites, with 6 pull-through), and the other loop offers 16 tent sites. Proximity to the Big Quilcene River, Hood Canal, and Quilcene Bay provides additional recreational opportunities such as access to oysters, clams, and water activities including boating and swimming. Falls View Canyon Trail #868 and Falls View Loop Trail are accessible from the campground.
