Kitsap Memorial State Park sits on the east shore of Hood Canal, 46 campsites scattered between a wooded tent area and an open RV meadow. The park offers full hookups, four heated cabins, and direct access to a rocky beach good for tidepooling. Facilities include flush toilets, coin showers, and a playground. T-Mobile service works at the cabins.
Mixed campground with tent sites, an RV hookup loop, reservable cabins and at least one group camping area; some primitive/first‑come sites also mentioned.
Weather and SeasonsSummer brings mid-60s to mid-70s°F highs, nights in the 50s, and the longest daylight for kayaking and beach access. July and August see weekend crowds but calm water and good conditions for boating. Fall and winter turn rainy and muddy. The heated cabins make off-season visits more comfortable, and you'll have the park mostly to yourself when storms move through.
Natural Features and SceneryHood Canal stretches west toward the Olympic Mountains from a rocky beach lined with barnacle-covered stones. At low tide, expansive tidal flats open up for beachcombing and marine life spotting. The wooded camping area has tall trees and shade; the RV meadow and day-use field are open grass with full sun. Elevation is 82 feet. The water stays cold year-round, and the beach is better suited to exploration than swimming.
