Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of mild, drier weather and easy access to trails and the Duckabush River — ideal for hiking, swimming, and riverside camping. Daytime highs are commonly in the mid-60s to mid-70s°F with cool nights in the mid-40s to low-50s°F, so days are pleasant and evenings are comfortable for campfires. Trails dry out, waterfalls remain scenic from snowmelt early in the season, and while weekends can be busy, weekdays are peaceful at this small 16-site campground. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
Best season: dry trails, daytime highs in the 60s–70s; most popular and pleasant for visits.
Collins Campground offers a range of basic amenities in a quiet and scenic setting along the Duckabush River. The campground has 16 campsites, 10 of which can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, while six are designated tent sites with parking spurs. Amenities include picnic tables and fire pits with cast iron grills at each site. However, it is a primitive campground with no electrical, water, or sewer hookups, and potable water is not available on-site. There are two sets of vault toilets, though some user reviews note that one of the toilets was closed during their visit or in need of maintenance.
