Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of comfortable temperatures, peak foliage, and excellent wildlife activity — expect daytime highs in the 55–75°F range and cool nights in the 35–50°F range. Leaf color usually peaks in late October into November, making hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography especially rewarding, and lower humidity keeps bugs to a minimum. Crowds are moderate: weekends and early-November hunting periods are busier, but weekdays are quiet; note hunting-season management shifts: Peak months: October, November, April, May
Fall is prime: leaf color peaks, lower humidity and cool nights noted as best season.
