Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, driest weather and full access to lake-based recreation — expect daytime highs in the mid-60s to low-80s°F and cool nights in the 40s–50s at 3,228 ft. Boating, swimming, trout fishing, and longer hikes are at their peak once the site is fully open (reservable season June 25–Sept 28), though sites get busiest in late July and August.
